Giveaway Time! Daregal Frozen Herbs! All Done, Calculating Winner.

That's right, it's time for my very first giveaway. The folks over at Daregal have offered to send five packages of herbs to one lucky reader. Now I don't do Facebook, Twitter or any of that other stuff, so you only have one chance to win. And to do that you need to tell me which five herbs you want. If you win, those are the ones you get. That by itself would be a bit too easy though, I think. So I also want you to tell me at least one thing you are going to make with them. You don't need to give a recipe or anything, just a description. It won't help your chances to win (I'm going to use a random number dealie) so feel free to admit if it has mushrooms, tofu or fish. Heh. I'm just curious.

So, to review, these are the herbs they have: basil, oregano, dill, cilantro, Italian parsley, the Original Blend (which is basil, oregano, rosemary and thyme), the Grilling Blend (thyme, rosemary, savory and parsley and my favorite of the blends) and the Italian Blend (parsley, red onion, oregano, basil and thyme). You can also visit their website, if you want more details on the product. I've used all of them but the dill (still can't find that specific Greek yogurt I'm looking for) and I love them. Unfortunately they only deliver in the US, sorry non-US residents. I'm going to run the giveaway through the weekend ending at, say, 6pm EST on Sunday and announce the winner on Monday. Good luck!

  1. What? Really? Well I'll make my own blends with the basics: basil, oregano, dill, cilantro, Italian parsley. I've been interested in these frozen herb things for awhile now, I hope I get to try 'em!

  2. I would love to try the Original Blend plus the basil, oregano, cilantro and dill. I love soupy-type of dishes over rice so I would use the basil and oregano with cannellini, zukes and tomatoes (among other things) to create a simple cassoulet-type dish. Now I'm hungry . . .

  3. Awesome! I'd love the basil, of course. I think I use it in just about anything with garlic. Also the grilling blend would be great for steaks and burgers. The Italian blend would be great for my homemade spaghetti sauce, and the original and Italian parsley would be great in just about anything.

  15. How cool! I would like the basil, oregano, cilantro, dill, and Italian parsley. I'd like to try them out in pasta sauce. You asked me about freezing the pancakes and I'm not sure, never freezed them but I don't see why they wouldn't be OK.

  26. ooooh...a giveaway!! Ok...lets see...dill, cilantro, italian parsley, the grilling blend and the italian blend. There's sooo much I could do..theres a really good dip I make using dill. I'm always using cilantro for my mexican dishes. When I cook I only use italian parsley (especially for that breaded chicken with sauce that you know you love...hahahaha). The Italian blend will of course go in all my sauces. And with the summer coming, the grilling blend won't last long :)

  27. Hey there "Bob"! Wow - your very own giveaway...how cool is that?! I would love some basil (#1 choice it seems), rosemary, cilantro, dill and I hear there's a blend? That would be awesome too! For the basil - it's almost tomato season so caprese salad time! The rosemary - for every chicken I ever roast...cilantro - still trying to perfect my salsa recipe! Dill - it's Spiedie time! (a central NY grilled speciality made w/ chicken, pork or lamb) and the for the blend? Maybe a yummy dressing w/ olive oil and balsamic?
